cagiva gran canyon - screen feedback please

Long time lurker, finally joining the fray.

Have a new to me GC, 2000, and wanting to know if any other inmates with the navigator/gran canon have used the tall windscreen from Gustafsson.

I have the factory longer screen, not the mini, and a larimar lip, but being 6'3", the noise with the lip is unreal. I have a lip on my r65/100 hybrid, and love it, but I think the sweet spot is just a little off for the GC. I ran it yesterday without the lip at speed, and felt like someone was slapping my helmet around above 70 or in the slipstream of a car.

I have used gustafsson before, so just looking to see how the screen "faired" (get it, faired) on the GC in the extra length.

TIA

I just picked up a GC as well. I have no experience with the Gustafsson Plastics screen but I found this thread interesting.

I think I'd give the X-creen a look before buying a taller touring screen. They seem to be working well.

I own 2 canyons I use a tour tech add on screen
Don't care what it looks like it gets the wind off and creates a nice spot of dead air. Use them on all my bikes.

I use the shorty on my GC, the tall screen buffeted like mad and I hate looking through plastic. The shorty provided the best smooth flow for me. If I didn't want wind I'd ride in a car.

so I pulled the trigger on the gustaffson touring. 23" tall, 16" wide.

It has a lip, but it is raked almost the same as the stocker, so it comes back pretty far, and is definitely not for DS use, unless you like smacking your helmet.

At just under 6'3", it was about two inches too short for proper flow over the helmet. SO, in comes the heat gun, and I bent it up about 15 more degrees, creating almost the same angle as a GS fairing. the difference is amazing. No buffeting, helmet clearance and almost full upper body bug/rain protection.

I have renthal bars, and needed to trim for mirror fitment, but that was about it.

I will post pictures when I get back to home base. It's not perfect, but it's damn nice.

I'm eager to see the pics.

Helmet buffeting is a beast not easily tamed with these bikes.

it is now so quiet that the intakes are too loud! lol. under 45mph, the wifey and I can even have a conversation without raising our voices.

the fairing is so far forward, that this long a screen looks big, but when you pull up next to a gs1150 or the like, it's about in the same place.

Wow, it does look like the top of the plexi would be very close to your helmet prior to the bending (especially at 6'3").

I'm glad to hear that it is working for you.
