I enjoyed it so much the first time, I might ride the CIS route again tomorrow.

There were some really greasy sections, but then it rained Friday, the day before we went through it. Might be better tomorrow.

The water crossing looked bad but it was only about a foot deep. I portaged it but my son went through.

I agree, I think I'm on my 6th go at it and it keeps getting more fun each time

BTW the Marlborough forest gates are open now...I started there, makes a nice addition to the CIS route. I'm, going to make an updated gps file that includes some it, and includes the old rail line we used to come home on.

Whatever you do, be careful of hunters and people out doing shotgun practice. As we rode into the last sandpit just off the 416 we were in range of a dozen people firing in the pits. One guy on a quad stopped us, and radio'd his buddies to tell them to be careful of us. You can hear them firing during this video:
