You have a very incorrect definition of what "lane splitting", as allowed in CA, is.

Short version: You have to be BETWEEN lanes going the SAME direction.

Actually, in the same lane as another vehicle going your same direction. If you are hitting a stripe with your tire you're doing it wrong.

Of course, CHP does it wrong too.

He pissed off the Harley Gods who took 16 seconds to react.

There's enough dweebish noob air to his commentary to be strangely entertaining (to me).

If you have the patience to watch his other videos, you will learn his riding history goes like this:

Quote:
Rode a Honda XR75 20 years ago.
Really into sports cars.
Bought the ZX10R after doing some research and finding it was a better choice than the ZX14R.
I suggested he get a DRZ400 and he agreed, but his response was that he prefers less technical runs like the Ortega Highway and is too much of an adrenaline junky to get rid of his ZX10R because he likes the acceleration.

I think somebody else already pointed this out, but the reason he went down was because he didn't have a guardian bell.

The guy in the video corners like he is driving a van.

By the love of God, get me off this bike! Oh! he's finally off.
Gee wheez it took long enough before he went down. Just sitting in front of the screen watching the video I was getting dizzy and ready to puke good thing he went down because I was getting ready to fall off my chair.
I suggest this rider to stay behind and learn how to ride before pass anyone.

True.

I think doing it all in green screen would improve it dramatically.

I did like the cartoon bubbles commenting about the DY line cross and so forth. I wonder why he went down. No idea based on the vid.

Saw the corner coming in and locked the front wheel up.

Oh, thanks. I saw from the long vid that the guy was a very choppy rider. I kept thinking he was riding outside himself. He'd be well served to slow way down and concentrate on being perfectly smooth. When he gets that, then speed up if he wishes to.

When going into a corner hot, always grab a big handful of front brake. And stab at the thing, too.

He was truly a menace to himself and everyone else...........all over the road, invading other riders space, and that goofy annoying dialog........still, I coudn't help but laugh.

I've always wondered why so many biff it in the same exact place there (there, and about 40 feet up the road from it), and this explains it now. People are hitting their brakes.

It makes a lot more sense, finally... after years of watching crashes there.
