Best FREE ipad gps app....
Hey there,
I am mid tour and just picked up a tank bag that can fit my iPad. I have a new 4g smart phone (razr maxx) w/my new unlimited talk/text/data plan for $100 (pm me if you want on!). I have power to my tank bag. I already have my phone set up as a 3-4g wireless hotspot fot my iPad2 (3g version) and my laptop. I am looking for a decent FREE gps app to use on my travels. The app store has 869 free apps. Where to get started? I can't do any paid apps right now, but would like a good freeware app to mess around with. I can dnload maps through wifi or my 3-4g hotspot.Any suggestions to get me off the ground would help. Thanks, n

I have Nav Free and Motion X on my ipad, plus some others. The one that lets me do the easiest route creation is called Routes.

My favorite is Motion-X, but I don't think it's free. The maps are free once you pay for the app though. I bought the AccuTera (now NeoTreks) app but have since discovered their map resolution sucks badly.
