Bad news :(
I had a high speed high side south of Bay of LA and am in San Ignacio now. Nothing broken but my ankle and knee are balloons. I was fully armoured up and am pretty lucky I limped away from this crash. Never had a crash this hard or at that speed. I'm here icing and compressing them but I don't know how it's going to feel. I am on the fence if I'm going to try the race solo if I'm injured. Bumps and scrapes despite full armour. These are not the issue. ![]() Ankle and knee look like this. Not feeling good when bending. ![]() All I have to say is....stupid stupid stupid. It was a crash on nothing special. I had gotten a flat earlier coming out of san felipe so I pumped the tires up to 35 psi which made the bike handle sketchy, and at the same time I was all paranoid about flatting again. Basically I was thinking about my tires instead of riding and bam. I'm not sure what happens from here.

Shit. When stuff goes wrong on those big rigs it happens fast. Had the same thing happen in V2R.... actually both things flats and crash.
Glad your ok. Keep off it and hopefully its good enough at race day.

Major bummer Radek!
. Ice 'em good and wrap 'em up in Coban Self-Adherent Wrap and ride like a rock star! Amazing stuff and I've ridden with badly sprained wrists with that stuff wrapped on and it works. |

Damn Radek, I'm sorry to hear this. I hope it is a quick easy healing and your back on your way.
I hit a truck head-on in San Vincente a few years ago. It broke my asterisk and bruised the hell out of my knee/thigh. I kept prerunning the rest of the week and raced. After the race all the bruising migrated down my leg and into my foot and ankle very weird. My doctor told me later it was a bad idea because of the risk of a blood clot. His advice for next time(lol) was to see a doctor before continuing, just to rule out serious problems. Best of luck brotha, I hope to see you make the start line! |

Best thing is your in mexico and can go to any pharmacia and get something that will make you feel nothing but not sure I'd want to ride after taking it.

Find any one of us ADV'er where ever you are that speaky'spanish, and go to a clinica. the whole evolution with any medicine won't cost more than 50$ unless it's something more serious. Good preventative medicine could be the difference in racing or watching or crashing again!
