Maybe ths is a bit too far North for some, but consider Burr Oak State Park in SE Ohio.
http://goo.gl/maps/eWQob THey have a large Lodge with restaurant for motel-types, and they have cabins that sleep up to 6 for very reasonable rates and tent camping right in the same area. the roads in the area are rediculous. Some of the best anywhere.
