Richardson Highway
Taylor Highway
Top-of-the-World Highway
and others.

Only 307 miles today. It was late in the day as we reached the Grand Tetons.

We were lucky to get one of the last campsites at Colter Bay. This campground was huge.
We pitched the tent and quickly took off to capture the sunset. I had a difficult time finding a view of the mountains.

I settled for this panaoramic view partially blocked by the island.

I awakened in time for sunrise photos of the Grand Tetons. I crept out of the tent, leaving Helen to catch
up on her beauty sleep. After a hike of about 1 mile through the forest I came to a beautiful gravel beach.
After working my way down the beach I finally had an unobstructed view of the Grand Tetons.

I waited and waited, but the sun refused to come out from the clouds.
I finally gave up and settled for some wildflower shots.

Of course, the sun made an appearance after I got back to camp.












We get started on putting miles behind us.





Helen took all of these Grand Teton pictures while we were moving today.











The steep, jagged peaks of the Grand Tetons are impressive.





We made it through Jackson, WY...





...and followed the US 191 Highway south.

We rode through a whole lot of nothing in Wyoming. It was nice to get a break from all those big green things. Trees.

I wanted to capture how much of nothing was out here...

We enter Utah and almost immediately there are trees. Beautiful pines and Aspens!

This is the only photo we got dropping down the very fun grade into Vernal, Utah.

We stopped to say hi to an old friend.

Just because she had so much fun riding my Aprilia, I let her take the KTM for a spin.
She looks happy.

Helen's View for 10,000 Miles

A light-colored riding jacket seems like a good idea in the Arizona sun.
I've noticed it can get pretty filthy in a weekend of riding.
In 25 days of bug busting, it's just plain disgusting.
I've long ago stopped wearing it inside restaurants.

We ride east into Colorado expecting boring grasslands. It was surprisingly scenic on the 139 highway south of Rangely.
We looked for a free campsite along several of the dirt roads, but every flat piece of ground was covered in cow manure.

It was getting real late when we race over a beautiful pass.

Just before dark we made it to the Highline Lake State Park north of Grand Junction.
We took the last spot in the crowded campground. It was nice to have a shower after riding in the heat all day!
It was noisy. We didn't sleep well here around so many people.
