The black will show EVERYTHING that is ever on it, and be hard to clean.

But a question on the Zinc, will it "contaminate" any food products that are on it?

I would lean towards the metal top.

Take your dimensions to a local metal shop and they can cut and bend a stainless steel top that will slide right onto your plywood top. Done. Good looking, still silver, easy to clean.

I don't know about the zinc maybe the black would be harder to keep clean food wise. I'll stick with my earlier suggestion.

I was quoted $200 today just for the piece of stainless, than I have to get it bent and the corner welded.

Mattress showed up today in this little box,

Unwrapping them was like getting Sister Mary Margaret out of her "Spanx"

Idea for countertop:

Sand the wood. Stain it with something pretty or use the remainder of your grey paint. Go to the naughty shop and purchase several skin rags. Lipstick, fake titties, lesbians, all that good stuff. Cut out the good pics and glue them to the counter. A porno-collage if you will. Cover with a piece of clear lexan. Counter complete.

I don't know if used restaurant supply or salvage place could be beneficial for SS.

Sister Mary Margaret would not approve...that would get her Spanx in a knot.

I gave up on Formica (Seems it's easier to by drugs than a piece of Formica) and Zinc and Copper and Stainless and right or wrong I'm using this,

Luckily I got to read the tasteless humor before it was edited and it was still funny

Although I kid about my wife she is the most wonderful woman in the world and supports me in everything I do, she's a keeper!

So.... what a friggen nightmare this counter top has been. I called Rustoleum about putting this product on wood floors when I was looking for a finish for the trailer floor and they said they do NOT recommend it because it did not flex at all so could peel because of that. I have seen multiple posts about guys using it without a problem so figured it would be fine on a counter top that had very little flex.

I got home tonight and gathered my supplies to put it down and I didn't have a small knap roller but had a heavy knap that I figured would work... I was wrong.

I mixed the epoxy as per the directions but only needed a small amount so used a small plastic cup mixing the 1 to 3 ratio and then waited the 45 min for the catylist to react and then dipped my roller into the tray and put the first roll out. Well that roller had been around for awhile and it looked like I dragged a shedding Golden Retriever across the countertop, hair everywhere.
I knew I had a nice brush I had just used but couldn't find it and was scrambling now looking for anything to use and found a sponge brush but by now the dog hair was setting up and when I brushed it I was pulling roller hair everywhere.

So I dumped a good amount out and used the foam brush to squeegee the paint around and was able to cover the fur and put a nice thick coat throughout.

We'll see what it looks like in the morning but as of know it looks fine!
