Use your wife's creme brulee blow torch thingy to burn any of the hair left sticking out... :)

I did a bar top with the liquid stuff you pour on. Had issues with bubbles, a hair dryer on high heat worked wonders. I also used masking tape around edges to keep it from running off. I got it about 1/4 inch thick. It was a fun project but stressful.

You're quick!
I had a second thought about it. Not everyone shares that kind of humor. Glad you got a chuckle.
I once sent a text to a buddy of mine after he did something very nice for his wife. Something about her dressing up in a pirate costume for him. His phone was on the counter. She read it first. Luckily she thought it was really funny. I always get coffee and cake when I visit.

The counter looks good in the pics. Shame that the brush made your life difficult for a short time.

Any idea on your final build costs? Looks like a heck of a project!

I have a cost to date a couple pages back but my guess would be $6250 all in. I started 3 months ago and I would guess I averaged 12 hrs a week times 12 weeks would be 144 hrs? Of course that's a guess and there was drinking involved and I haven't been in a rush...until now.

So $6250 plus $144, I always figure my labor when it is love, is about a dollar an hour.

A dollar is about right...maybe a little high but with inflation about right.

Snow day! We got a foot of snow today and they had forecast 2-4" so I played hookey..I did all sorts of punch list items today which included adjusting and tightening cabinet doors and fixing minor issues as well as setting the counter top, got the sink hooked up as well.
