What is the difference between a 2002, a 2003, and a 2004 GM pickup as far as structure and crash protection goes?

Apparently so. And yes, a shame to destroy what seemed to be a very solid car. Very interesting result, though. It certainly swayed my opinion on the theory of mass=safety.

That's a great question. Find a Chevy thread and ask it there. Probably get more informed answers. This is a Ford Guy thread.

My point is... Nothing... There is no difference.

To say "don't buy a ten year old truck because of safety issues" is stupid, especially when the 8, 9, 11, and 12 year old trucks are exactly the same.

10YO trucks are different than the trucks we're discussing here. The 9th gen aka OBS* were last made in 1996.

Now off to the Chevy guy thread with you!

Coming to see the light? Gonna get you the best truck ever made?

I dig me the OBS trucks. I miss my '96 F250 PSD.

Would love to have a SuperDuty regular cab, long bed.

I'll look at used ones when I'm ready in a few years.

My dad is a SuperDuty freak and will probably faint when I sell the Chevrolet!

Putting my truck to work... 4 scoops of plain hardwood mulch. The truck loves that extra weight back there. It rode even better on the way home! No problems going up a few steep hills.

Just got back from Burger King. Some guy in a brand new F350 pulling a 5th wheel with horses starts offering me silly money on my 93 F250 4x4. He says he has 97 at his farm, but needs a 4x4....

You should have taken his money before he realized you had an IDI model.
