Okay, on with day three. After Bob undid his intake mod we are ready to roll. Now I guess the KTM is:

We headed to Gerlach for lunch at Bruno's. There is the Black Rock playa in the distance.

At Painted Canyon we got onto a kick butt two track that had some history.

I stopped to read this sign and started laughing. "Somewhat uneven" and "good wheeling." Hell Yeah!!! Those boys knew how to cut a fun trail. If they only knew what kind of pace could be attained with two wheels.

Strange little cabin with a second story that had no access.

Last picture for day three.

Day four. Dan loaded up and headed home, so that left Bob and I to ride today.

This was a fun road.

We scared up some antelope. About 20 minutes later we came back this way and stopped and talked to a couple of antelope hunters that had just shot a buck. I think we scared the antelope into their sights.

Nice ride(s). Always interesting riding in the desert and the things one finds. Lots of cool picture's from you guys. Tunnel Camp link was interesting too. Many times we run across these old sites, but find it hard to discover the history.

Day five. Bob had to head home early as he found out his wife was in the hospital when he called to check in Saturday morning. So I was off for a solo ride the last day of my trip.

Another burned out hulk in the Nevada desert. We saw two Pintos on two different days earlier in the week. I was beginning to think Nevada was where Pintos go to die. I'm not sure what this one was.

I don't see a whole lot of prime Christmas trees...

More.

The "road" was steadily deteriorating so I finally gave up and turned around. Next year I will be back to finish the last part of this road with some company.

Nice write up

How do you get any riding done with all the stops for photography?

Were you trying to get down to the geothermal plant? It looks like maybe you might have been trying to come down the same canyon we were trying to go up when we ran across this.

The other group of riders we ran into a couple times on our trip had just come down it.

Did you try Fencemaker Pass while you were in the area?
