Just went over the Throggs Neck last wed. and guess what? IT DIDN'T WORK !! Oh, what a surprise !!
All u inmates that said NY / NJ ez-pass readers work 50% of the time are dead on.
I had it in my tank bag clear map pocket for the first time to give it try. waste of time, gave it to the cop and HE had trouble raising the gate! (yes, i pay my bill!) It's just the way of life around here. Doesn't really matter tho bc in the next mile or so ur gonna hit a traffic jam in any direction u choose! Ahhh, life in Nu Yawk. That's one of the many reasons i moved upstate.

You should be able to do that with any iPod/mp3 player athletic armband form an electronics or sporting goods store.

EZ Pass mount plate

Sorry to revive such an old thread but I wasn't sure where else to post. I came up with this idea a bit ago and recently some people have noticed it and and asked where I got it. I designed it and had it made. I'm considering making a batch. If I get a reasonable response that this interests anyone here I'll make a new thread in vendors with the details.

Zip tied to the left rear reflector, works perfectly. I had it velcroed to the windshield on the Wee and FJR where it was ez (see what I did there?) to swap between bikes but now that I'm getting down to one bike again it's nice there. Out of sight out of mind.

Wink

Zip ties work great but they don't offer the flexibility I needed. I was concerned with theft so I wanted it removable. I also use it on multiple bikes and often use the car version because of the discount plan associated. The plate can be mounted with zip ties or with velcro strap. The hex holes also double as 6, 8, 10, & 13mm wrenches in a pinch.

I messed around with the EZpass (now sunpas since I moved to FL, but it's about the same size/shape transponder) and never got it to work consistently on the bike. In FL I've quite using it. I own one and it's registered to the bike but in a drawer at home. The system takes a photo of my tag, and automatically bills my sunpass account. That works out great. No clutter on the bike. EZpass may do the same thing, not sure.

I quit carrying mine on the bike since it didn't seem to register most of the time anyway. Now the system just takes an image of the plate and records the transaction.

Pardon ie if this is redundant

I have not read the entire thread... But I put my easypass in my chest pocket of my riding Jacket. Works every time and can’t get stolen there.

Many tank bags contain magnets.. not a good mix with an easy pass.

The image charges the car rate from what I can tell. I had marginal success with the chest pocket method. Here in upstate NY there are still toll plazas that hand click you through and they always give me the "Ya know...That's supposed to be mounted to the bike." The plate works on all the bikes I've tried it on. The only one that worked oddly was the Super Enduro. I had to mount the ezpass upside down for it to work 100% of the time. I think the one toll booth I roll through has an odd setup because it's the only one that gives me issues even in the car.

Same for the EZpass in Illinois.
