I have mostly rode sleds around Bolan Pass/ East Fork drainage which runs between Rico and Purgatory but have dropped over the northeast side down one of the drainages towards Ophir..We have topped out some climbs at about 13,400 back there. Amazing terrain, but you got be on your A game at times! The whole top area is like one big playground and they do groom the main trails to keep the road obvious.

Oh wow! I'm amazed they groom the roads. With what? Similar to a groomer you would see at a ski resort? Post a pic if you have one. Especially Ophir.

Ophir doesn't get groomed. Pretty big slide path in the winter. Bolam pass is groomed by one of the local snowmobile groups..i heard they actually maintain it all the way out past Dunton toward the Fall Creek side and toward Norwood as well..pretty big interconnect with fuel on either side..the Divide rd on the Uncompahgre Plateau also is groomed by another group. Yes, usually it is a small version of what ski areas use, although I used guide sleds on Vail Pass and one of our snowcats was a full size one from Vail's fleet...
But enough about winter, lets think of summer riding! Actually in Moab right now so I can scratch that itch and get some time on Poison Spider!
