Yeabut, don't go get so high and mighty that ya forget yer roots and where ya came from

Hate to see the "merican sucess story" happen here. It has grown beyond over the years true but at its core, RMAR is still an ADV event.

Woody's Wheel Works will be there!

We did come in a little late, I will however be there to help as much as possible with the event, represent our company and our products/service, along with OFFERING FREE BASIC TRUE SERVICE'S if possible on all bikes. And i do have the beast R1200GS to ride with everyone again, figured I should go over Black Bear Pass if possible.

If the rims are bent I can't fix anything on the road except tighten spokes. But I can also help with tire changes, and any other mechanic's that I can do with the tools I have

Come see me, say hi, and grab a sticker.

See ya all there.

Thanks zach

I have to Drop out

The last three have been great but a family funeral is changing my plans. Next year wherever it is I'm going.

Knock some bark off the trees for me.

Oh and by the way ADV Rally, we are not really an ADV event and that implies we are somehow stuck to this forum. We are not, most people that are coming are not even members here. Although we are down from what we expected we are still looking at 200 riders. In fact as you can see we don't sport the ADV logo anymore, and RMAR stickers outsold ADV ones so we are not even bothering this year with ADV.
So, according to your words, you're saying, move it from ADVRider Annual Rallies as you are not affiliated with ADV Rider (and you're not even bothering with ADV?)

Why are you posting here. I would understand it if you were attending the event, but it seems like you enjoy bickering this to pieces. Not sure what to take from your post. And I cannot for the life of me, figure out what you are contributing to the thread......?????

I guess because I feel like they are exploiting the use of Rendezvous, as in Eastern Rendezvous which was run for years by the Party Boss, Rick Kiehna.

As best as I call tell, RMAR didn't adopt the RDV monicker until Rick had passed away and it just seems that having an event, listed in ADVrider Annual Rallies, similarly named, is riding on the skirt tails of my deceased friend and a lot of other great people that worked their asses off putting the event on just so a couple of hundred of my best friends could get together!

These are just my feelings!

I still didn't realize the use of a word, meaning a meeting or gathering, was monopolized for one event in another region. True, I understand you are honoring your friend, but honestly would he care that people in the Rockies also used the term? When I googled Rendezvous, I found a gypsy river girl festival, which sounds better than hanging with any of you. Is there a board for approved names that commitees must pass? Mac already stated it was based on Jim Bridges Rendezvous, which is much older, and he doesn't seem offended!

the reference is of a mountain man rendezvous, not copying a name from them eastern folk...think jim bridger, kit carson, jedediah smith etc. these men were beaver fur trappers to make hats for all those metro-sexual east coast men.
after the 1840's beaver fur fell out of fashion and thus the demand died off.

It's Jim Bridger:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Bridger
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_Mountain_Rendezvous

... i'm a professional tour guide (not trying to be a know it all) and know all this stuff. just spend a week in Tetons/Yellowstone/Cody/Big Horns/Black Hills with a group talking about all this.

Damn spellcheck! I know it is Bridger, I used to live in Bozeman for a bit and hiked and snowboarded in the Bridgers quite a bit...
