Plungerhead,

I don't even know how to respond to that idea. Are you sure that was coffee that you were drinking?

Honestly, while it's definitely not to my taste, at least with a seat you can always have it re-covered if you're not happy with it.

WHAT?!?!

"Honda is only bringing 75 CB1100 motorcycles to the North American market"

I've never this number before.

Sounds a bit like those "Only 1 left in stock" kind of deals. I do not believe it at all.

I dont believe it either. This is some kind of dealer BS. Honda is in business to build and sell motorcycles and make money. They will build as many as they can sell.

I wouldn't tend to believe it either. On the other hand, I would think that a company like Honda has some pretty specific rules when it comes to advertising, or more specifically false advertising. Weird.

Dealers can and sometimes will say almost anything to move the iron. You take everything a dealer says during the sales process with a huge grain of salt.

It might be possible there are only 75 bikes planned for the initial year in the Canadian market. North American market? Ridiculous.

*If* it's only 75 bikes, get a '14 CB1100 instead. False supply crisis fixed!

Unless someone must simply have THE first CB1100 in their area. Then they'll pay for the bragging rights. I remember Mazda Miatas were going for north of $30k when they were first brought to the US in '88. People just had to have them.

That brown leather seat looks good on that green Griso. But, it would look like a$$ on a red, black, or even white cb1100. There are no earth tones on a cb1100 to compliment such a seat.

Black Seat for the cb1100 is probably best.

Oh well, it was just a consideration in the back of my mind. It's pretty obvious I need to leave the styling cues to the pros and people with a better 'eye" than me.

89. they were officially released in 90.. some, very few, are marked 89.. none were sold in 88 unless they were pre-ordered for late 89. which i don't think they were.

I won't argue the year one way or the other, that was based on the ol' noodle. Had I Googled it I would'a looked smarter.

Still, I remember (I think!) people paying three large for Miatas because they just had to have them before anyone else.

The problem is that Griso SE Tenni is one of the best looking bikes I've ever seen. The lines coupled with the green and brown are amazing so there is a natural tendency to recreate the look. However, while spot on for that bike I don't see it working for the CB1100. (Fortunately, the ergos on the Griso did not fit me or I wouldn't be spending time on this thread.)

Here is a pic of the Griso..........
Just maybe it could work on the white model. Perhaps someone with Photoshop skills could mock it up.

I fully believe there are motorcycle salesmen in this thread.

I refuse to read any more hype about scarcity. If you've got a video, post it. If you've got something to type that somehow increases the amount buyers should expect to pay, save it - and go to hell.

It's a simple bike for simple money. That Honda didn't make it for years is their fault. My bikes will keep running until this new UJM is understood to be just another bike in the market.
