OK, so how much taller could a seat be made, and what's the rise on the current CB1100 bars? A seat and bar raise could alleviate a lot of whatever questionable ergonomics Honda threw on it.

I'm going to the New York International Bike Show at the Jacob Javits Center tomorrow. I'll be sure to check out the cb1100 up close. It will be the first time I'll see it in person. I'll take some pics, of course, and try to talk to some Honda engineers or factory personell present.
I'll post some pics and a report.

The silver engine looks much nicer than the blacked out version.

I like blacked out better they look good when dirty. Silver looks good in the showroom, black looks better everywhere else

I looked at this bike at the NY motorcycle show. The bike was gorgeous in person. There are a few elements (notably the passenger footpeg mounts) that don't quite work, but are fixable. I'm 5'11" and the ergos felt just right. The bike felt very light (obviously it was without fluids and probably battery.) I'd like to see it with some (retro?) luggage.
It was getting a lot of attention but I still think it's going to be a hard sell at the price point. |

The local bike show had one of these at the Honda display. The white version. And it was sitting beside a 1980 750F Supersport. The vast amount of attention was towards the 1980 Honda.
If I had the money Honda Canada wants for this thing [$14,000], I'd go and buy a nice CB1100F Supersport, and take the remaining 7K and buy a few ounces of gold. In 5 yrs, I predict the 2013 Honda will be worth 6 grand, the 1100F will be worth $8500, and the gold will be worth 10K.
