American Motorcycles used in WWI
When you think of military motorcycles, the Harley WLA used in WWII, usually comes to mind. But if you go back to the first World War you'll find that the Indian PowerPlus was running around Europe, often with a sidecar mounted machine gun! Nice vintage pics of some motorcycles with serious hardware...

Thanks for that link, very interesting.
When I visited Barber Vintage days a couple of years back, there was an old Harley in the auction, that had come across from Scotland, this particular Harley had documented history showing that it had served in both WW1 and WW2, and still survived. ![]() I have no idea what it sold for, or where it ended up, cool old bike though. |
