I've got my picks in and changed a couple this morning. Think I'm set for the weekend.

Dawgs will cover and then some. Sorry TC.

Actually a cool little Birthday Present. I'm not a coin collector. Hell, I'm trying to avoid being a "collector" of anything these days. A friend stuck it in the B-day card. One of the better gifts, in that it sits on my dresser and I can remember who gave it to me.

I don't think UT has a chance. But, no loss could be so embarrassing as last weekend's "butt chugging" incident.

I would find the whole thing humorous except that I loathe social fraternities and sororities with the fire of a thousand suns. Kathie Lee and Hoda are doing their part of the Today Show live from UT on Monday morning (and, my classes have been cancelled due to it because the chancellor wants faces in the crowd for the live taping - great priorities). I wonder how they'll address it.

From an article linked next to Linzi's article---

Talk about "my little hito" syndrome. It's ok that he was at a .40 and bought an ICU admit....but don't think of our "good boy" as a Butt Chugger.

Quote:
. Alexander P. Broughton, 20, was brought to the University of Tennessee Medical Center at approximately 1:15 a.m. Saturday with a blood-alcohol content "well over" 0.40 percent after allegedly using rubber tubing to administer an alcohol enema, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

"The incident as reported is not true in its entirety," the student's father, Mark Broughton of Memphis, said Tuesday. "There is significantly erroneous information out there and it has come from the Knoxville Police Department."

Yeah, it's a shit show. The kid is says that he was not doing this alcohol enema thing, that he just drank the alcohol, but won't release his medical records to the police. But, when he was brought into the ER, they called in a sexual assault nurse because his cornhole showed signs of abuse, and the evidence found at the house corroborated the witnesses' report about alcohol enemas.

If that was my kid, his ass would be on the next bus to Memphis, where he'd be living in my house and going to the local community college until he could figure out how to manage in big boy school. It's amazing to me that the father would jump on the police department for doing their job. Then people wonder why their kids do stupid shit like this.

Everyone involved should just give up right now. They are clearly too stupid to continue using everyone else's oxygen.

(I'm annoyed today. Can you tell? )

Well, since we're talking about "butt chuggers" could someone tell me why another Penn State football game is being televised on ESPN today? I could understand the morbid curiosity in their first game being aired, but my god, having them on every week?

And, playing Illinois?

So a game, between possibly the 2 worst teams in the Big 10, and they're being nationally televised? Jesus H Christ!

I was pretty embarrassed by the behavior of the Florida fans after the UT game in Knoxville a couple of weeks ago. They really lived up to their reputation.

I didn't hear anything about it at school or in the news? What'd they do?

The big talk in class the following Monday morning was all about UT fans and how terribly they behaved (like the UT fan who was trying to smash the head of a UF fan into the brick wall outside of the Copper Cellar on the Strip). And also how much UT sucked.

...and that was coming from UT fans. ...in a class at UT.

Personally, I think there are winners and losers in every group of fans. I've never seen that any are worse than others.

I didn't see that (but I don't doubt it happened).

I personally witnessed Florida fans vandalizing cars with UT emblems, picking fights along the river, loud and vulgar language, and one girl wearing Florida colors passed out drunk in front of Calhoun's with her skirt pulled up to her waist.

I totally agree with your last statement.
