Just spotted Doug rolling up to the ferry in the support truck. He made the ferry just in time!

I came across a 28 HD in Grand Haven on my way to Muskegon. Didn't catch his name but number 6. I think he was having carb issues and maybe a little off schedule. My buddy and I sorta escorted him to the ferry about a half hour before boarding. It was weird doing 50/55 on the interstate. It was sweet seeing all those bikes in line waiting to get on the boat. I saw a HD on a trailer that had a mishap with a car earlier, number 40 I think? There was a BMW on the same trailer, number 62. Lake Michigan was at its finest today, rocking and a rolling.
I'm subscribed for the rest of this excellent adventure!

Your intrepid reporter made a day out of it and rode nearly 500 miles R/T this afternoon for these shots. *Enjoy! I rode down to the ferry in Milwaukee to see the bikes disembark on their way to the celebration at the Harley-Davidson Museum. The ferry ran late so we lost the light we needed to the best pictures of Doug and the rest of the Cannonball crew. Lots of spectators at the ferry landing with many, many more at the museum.
I did get this shot of Doug and his bike. ![]() Doug missed the police escorted convoy to the H-D museum so he asked me if I would lead him over there (with the admonition of "not too fast!"). It was fun riding the city streets with Doug and his bike looks and sounds great. I noticed he was getting a lot of attention at the stop lights. Nice meeting you Doug and I hope you are having a blast at the event at the H-D museum. Best wishes for the rest of your journey!

Hell, if this ride was easy what would be the point in doing it? Troubles or not I still think you have bigger balls than all the other CB'ers put together. After all you did ride your bike from "Bama" with no support rig or crew. I plan on riding down to Spirit Lake IA on Tuesday to meet up with you and Rinkers, be good to see both of you two again, but please tell Steve to put some long pants on as he just doesn't have the legs for shorts........

I heard the Cannonball (Baker) Run was stopping at the Harley Museum so I figured I would check it out. I haven't checked in here lately so I had no idea RTW Doug was doing this. I was talking to this guy a little bit.....
![]() ...mentioned I liked his work etc, but didn't feel the need for a photo op until I saw this guy ![]() Figured I should jump in on a pic with a real legend. His bike ![]() Doug - It was very cool to meet you. I wish you the very best on your travels west. Maybe see you in Anamosa.
