Oh no! I have pics to share too, but just a few of the road weasels and doug's bike on the truck

Ok, knowing what I know now after a quick 90 mile trip and from doug's experience, spares I should carry are the following:
.......a full top end?

After riding 180 mile round trip on my trusty, crusty 741 I have nothing but respect for Doug and anyone else making this run. I'd like to brag about my Indian, and how it's always trusty and never breaks down, and is never on the lift, but my ride home proved me wrong. I was totally at the mercy of the kindness of others and pure luck on the ride home. First my distributor rotor broke in half. Hey wouldn't you know it, someone had some glue! Oh and why, oh why did I pull into the marina to fix my bike, when a gas station would've at least had a little light? Oh, well it turns out that someone in the woodshop next door had a spot of sandpaper. Sand the points and I'm on my way

So I kissed the ground when I made it home, thank god I didn't have to make that dreaded phone call. My girlfriend has the keys to my truck, ready with a full tank to come pick me up (should I need it) whenever I leave. Ironically, the only time she's had to do that was when I took the sportster out, serves me right buying that bike. Every harley I've owned has been a nightmare. I call it the curse of the Indian.

Aint that the truth! (for a lot of us). Funny how this "easy" little cross country jaunt is causing him more grief than riding thru Iraq!

No Doug

I was in Mason City at the lunch stop today and totally stoked to meet Doug but he never showed. I asked 3 other riders if they had seen him and they said that he was still in the run.

Tough luck on the break down Doug... good luck on the fix. Mighta-coulda lent a hand if I had known.

I suppose this means I am gonna need to ride to Alabama to meet you now.
