He was several months too late for the last show at the Amargosa Opera House.

I made it to my friends in vegas.
For the past several nites, when i drained the sump oil from the bottom of the motor, there have been pieces of metal stuck to the magnet on the drain plug. This is not good So, i think this is a good spot to end the indian part of the trip. Now, i have to figure out what option to take Ship the bike and fly home, or Buy a pickup and drive home, or Ship the bike, and buy another bike to ride home Im limited by funds as to how nice a bike or truck i can buy, so ship/fly makes the most sense But its the least fun.......

Looking at the map, it appears I-40 is the most direct route, for him.

Well that sucks. Doug, been keepin an eye on you, I'm in Salida, Co. headed for Fla tomorrow afternoon. Could probably meet you in Santa Fe, Abq, or Amarillo. Pretty sure the bike will fit in the airstream, had a Drz400 in it. Maybe get a u.haul to one of those places. Goin thru Alabama, no charge. Taking you and your bike home, priceless.
Oh, no cell coverage for me till early afternoon Fri.

Dang! Sorry bout the '28. No fun being sensible. Find something interesting on the local craigs list, ride it home, then sell it at the Barber swap meet. We hate for this to end too soon. edit: oops, looks like the answer just arrived above.
