I just discovered a glowing review of the CRF250L posted at Motorcycle.com.

I brought my new CRF250L home this weekend. I will be fabricating a skid plate from 1/8th inch 5051 series aluminum. I'll be starting on the designs this week. I hope to have it done in the next 3 weeks. I see a potential replacement for the right side gray plastic brake light switch cover from .080" and a luggage rack from 1/8" aluminum. I'll update as I progress. Thread subscribed.
Thanks |

A good reminder to put zip ties in my kit. Glad you're ok.

maintenance
Hey guys, what are the valve adjustment intervals and oil change intervals for this bike? After the holiday season is over, I will be picking up either this one or a ninja 300. I think the deciding factor will be the maintenance intervals.
Thanks in advance. |

Off the top of my head suggested intervals are 600 mile oil change/valve inspection. Then 8k oil change, 16k valve adjustment/oil change etc.

But why that nasty sounding exhaust? Not only does it sound sh!t, but it is so loud... seriously why by a D/S bike then p!ss everybody off by making it sound like that? Keep 'em quiet - ride stealth! Jx |

Rack from PMB
FYI, I emailed Pro Moto Billet and they replied that they have already developed a Rack-it rear cargo rack for the CRF250L - due to be out in the next couple weeks.
In short order, a skid plate from Ricochet and a rack from PMB. Who's stepping up to get rear spring options?! |

True, I like them to sound nice and have slightly more power as well - however that one in the video sounds way over 96 db max that is becoming the standard for most places on the trails (and here in colorado as well). The FMF q4 is 94db max - I am getting one and much lighter (6 pounds light as well). Besides you can get a cheap tach/hour meter here: http://www.rickramsey.net/CRF250Lmods.htm#hourtachmeter

I got one of those tachs, very handy... So where does thing redline? This is my first thumper in what seems like forever so I'm still trying to adjust to exactly where it needs and wants to be ridden...
