I watched the video of the bike with the FMF
That is stupid loud. That's how you piss off land owners and end up with neighborhoods that ban motorcycles.

FMF is saying that the sound level q4 for the bike it is no greater than 96db - i wonder if the one from them (best dual sport) is louder some how - maybe they moded it in addition to the ceramic coating? I've run Q4s before and they are pretty decent

The both do great work, quality products.

My guess and that's all it is, is the iPad or camera is making it seem louder than it is.

Could be, I don't recall them being that loud as in the video.

Edit: Think the ceramic coating could be affecting the origianl design as SugarDust noted, increasing the sound. Just guessing though. I'll forgo the ceramic coating anyway.

He got the plastic generic drc edge kit looks good on his bike

Don't be sorry, I'm completely new to this fi programming myself. From what I've been researching it sounds that its not all that difficult to use or install. I guess I'll find out soon, hopefully it comes with good instructions!
