This is one of those things that I think that will absolutely never be really needed in the motorcycling world, but much like every "won't use revolutionary" but rather totally original ground up design and built I can immensely appreciate the work and thought going into it.

Wow, just wow. Will be interesting to see what this is like when they've finished building it
I wonder how you'll control it though, being omni-directional it should be able to move left, right, and do a 360 turn returning to it's exact original position - but how will you tell the vehicle to do any of that with just input from the handlebars?
I'll be watching this closely

Interesting, but why?

How does it improve things? It's weight balance, contact patch, power to the ground stuff that matters. That just adds frame so the wheels can roll sideways when would you want the wheels to roll sideways

Me... if I were going for a complete redesign, I'd go track over wheel. A big track that goes over to under the rider. Then, I'd make the track shape-shift. Hit the gas, and it goes triangular with the rider up front and a contact patch stretching out to the tail. Hit the breaks, and the rider is shoved back with the track extending out front. Cruising down the highway, and it's a big circle with the tiniest contact patch that will let you have traction to stay on the road. I would be all about controlling weight distribution and using as much contact patch as needed. Now, you get something like that in a frame that doesn't weigh more than an M1 Abrams tank and you might have something useful, something revolutionary, rather than a "look at me" gimmick bike that can ride sideways.

That's great, unless there's dirt, gravel, garbage, fluids and whatever other road hazards that will stick to the sphere and get into the friction drives.

Pretty dumb idea.

The drive motor discs contact the spheres at different angles for fore/aft and side/side movement. You can't have it both ways. When the sphere is rotating forward, the side drive motor disc is getting a big flat spot ground out of it. (Actually I just noticed on their scale model that they have little rollers making up the periphery of the discs. That helps...) Still going to be fun with road debris.
