Sunrise about 6 hours out of Mazatlan
Made it! that was my 7th ferry ride in Mexico first one was in 1976 from Cabo to PV..........

Since the ferry was Late, I decided to stay the night in Mazatlan I stayed at the Belmar Hotel........
things will only get better.....
I got out of that room before day light It had rained most of the night so it was quite wet and muddy with some deep water...very hot and humid so I headed for the mountains....

Found Tequila!

I have been here before so no picture's I did find a nice little hotel the Real Tequila Hotel with secure parking
350 pesos....a upgrade from Mazatlan........
Decided to bypass Guadalajara and make a run to Queretaro... I made it to my hotel in the Centro Historico found my Hotel with no problems the gps was spot on....Geat location not even a half a block from the main
plaza.. Plaza Las Armas....I think I may have this ride report thing figured out....Maybe The hotel name is the Hotel Hidalgo $450 pesos with secure parking in the courtyard....
One the way toll road break....

Queretaro....Hotel Hidalgo..

Here's a start...... Queretaro really loved this stop...

Another shot of my great parking at my Hotel

The town is getting ready for Independence Day 9/15 so lot's of decorations flags, and celebration's

Acueducto

And it's a long one!

The Hurricane

Such a clean town...

another templo

Need to get a Bandera for the Moto

I Just got back to Queretaro after going to Xilitla riding over the Sierra Gorda.. Man what a road !! Mex# 120 one not to miss.... Although I had to get into the rain gear each way alot more nasty stuff on the return leg had rain, fog, and clouds as well but when I got to the western slope the weather broke and received some much needed
warmth... I am up early tomorrow heading for Valle De Bravo and the surrounding area....
Went to Las Pozas...I will try and post a few Pictures but so many have been on this forum in the past but
it was a very cool thing to see in real life..

Xilitla

From my hotel had some rain....

Aound town

Las Pozas........ Just few pictures

My Hotel in Xilitla... A deal at $250 pesos very clean...

9/11....
Made the ride from Queretaro to Valle de Bravo very beautiful with rolling hills and pine forest before you drop down to Valle to this very large lake.....town is very busy with many Taxi's and traffic moves at a snails pace because of the very uneven cobble stone roads never expierenced this any place before in Mexico.. A little difficult with a loaded KLR... I burned some clutch getting through town..

Some pictures of centro Valle de Bravo sorry no pictures of the Lake....I just was a little tuned off by my expierence there...

This where I stayed the night not in Valle but in Avandaro La Caballerizas.....

Well I got up early had the moto loaded I was hoping to miss any traffic in Valle de Bravo but it was not to be 6:30 am it was backed up gridlocked??? I am thinking WTF!...... I do not like this place, so a hour later I am through the mess and on the the road... Next stop is Ajijic on Lake Chapala stayed a funky place.. Hotel Italo $390 Pesos with secure Parking in the Banquet room... Here are some pictures some amazing riding cool temps and a lot of great views unfortunately I did not get the pictures I hoped to... Lack of turn outs....
My hotel in Ajijic, Jalico

Ajijic, Jalisco..Lake Chapala

If you want a good meal this is the Place in Ajijic..Order a Ribeye...

From Ajijic I was heading to Barra De Navidad on the Mex #80 It passes through a town called Autlan this is where Carlos Santana was born... this was another amazing road crossing three mountain ranges.....
Here are a few Photos and of course Carlos Santana Ave......

9/14
I am in Barra de Navidad now... This stop is to get some stuff sorted Laundry and give the moto some care I have spent alot of time in this town over many years past because of work.... and I may be returning this next Feburary..... I had a visit with my friend Secundino the Harbor Master of Marina Isla de Navidad ... things here a bit slow here this time of year it is the first time that I have been here in the off season.....Here are a few photos......

The town has had some storm damage ....watch that last step!

Pretty quiet... empty streets

Lot's of dock space available....

Bahia de Navidad .... Took this from the Grand Bay Resort

Check out the name of this panga.. they were hookah diving for callitos.. small scallops...

Barra de Navidad from the Grand Bay Resort....

The Hotel I stayed at in Barra it was a great place and very clean.

Infinity pool....

This the Copa Del Sol On Punta Farallon just south of Costa Careyes.....

Late afternoon swim in the pool and a nice sunset......

Nice report. Nice trip.
I'm trying to plan my next trip down there, from La Paz to Mazatlan then points south. Maybe no further than Zihuatenejo, and just along the coast.
I was looking for a good place to stay in Barra de Navidad. Also Mazatlan. I don't want to stay at the Belmar.
And also Sayulita. I think those will be some of my stops along the way.

The 5th and 6th floor rooms are pretty nice. Bottom ones are roach rooms. La Siesta is nice $40 to $60. Schrimp Bucket is good eats. Go to la mexicana down the street, cheap and excellente ! Go west a block or less, club, dance with the canadians. Missing those tamales in La Paz out of 5 gal bucket Hmmm !

In Barra I stayed at the Hotel Marquez very clean, and a lot space.. It is at the very north end of town very quiet and it is just a short walk into the center of town.. but there are very many options in Barra..lot's of bungalows and rooms for rent as well as hotels.. as for Mazatlan I would check out la Siesta.... wish I would have stayed there...
David13....Thanks and Buena Suerte.....

Alamos.... A great little Colonial Mexican Town....It is worth a visit if you are in the area....Here are some photos..

The KLR got a good wash and fresh oil and filter...My plan is to depart Alamos Saturday 9/22 cross into the U.S. either at Nogales or Soynota up to Newport Beach, Ca. for a few days then back down the Baja to La Paz.....
