Yes you have to secure your own bike, so good to have at least two tie downs with hooks on each end... I used the the pull clam type not ratchet....best not to trust that there will something lying around for you to use although there are usually some wheel chocks you can use to block the under the skid plate....... I take all loose stuff off the bike, tank bag, dufflle bag and gps.. lock the Panniers and your good to go.... J

The KLR got a good wash and fresh oil and filter...My plan is to depart Alamos Saturday 9/22 cross into the U.S. either at Nogales or Soynota up to Newport Beach, Ca. for a few days then back down the Baja to La Paz.....

I was looking for a good place to stay in Barra de Navidad. Also Mazatlan. I don't want to stay at the Belmar.
And also Sayulita. I think those will be some of my stops along the way.
dc
Hotel Diamante is THE spot in Sayulita. http://www.hoteldiamantesayulita.com.mx/
Inside rooms, next to the pool, are 350P a night.
We convinced them to concrete finish then entrance so you can bring your moto inside the courtyard...guaranteed there will be other on moto doing the same. 2 min walk to the beach. 5 min to town. I wish i was there right now.

if you want to camp at the beach, the cameron is the spot. around the corner from diamante. go to their beach bar either way!

Well,
I am back on the road tomorrow I have been home for a 5 days time to go back to work, and work is in La Paz so let's ride back down the Baja......No real planned route Just keep the course some what south close to 180 degrees mas o menos........maybe 4 day's riding...Now I am no stranger to the Baja my first trip South of the Border was in 1978 ....It was a surf Adventure....

I have a lot of respect for that road and it seems the older I get the slower I go...And my thought has always been since I moved to California from Hawaii where I grew up is the the only reason to live in California is that Mexico is south of the Border ...Now on the Moto it is great to see places I have not seen and venture away from Mex#1....

Here are Some Pictures of my last ride on the KLR I am posting these just to keep some interest in this Ride Report I rode with My Dutch friend Evert he was on a 1100 GSA ....I will try and post real time photos as I go....John

Did this routine about 5 times

The Dutch guy goes down...
