The only thing distasteful in this thread is you and your ridiculous comments.
You've been in Germany too long - maybe the "exceptional" socialism there is rotting your brain.

What, do you think this country (U.S.A, hence "the flag") just built its damned self?! That's right, high-speed, many of us and our ancestors built this country, and we believe in its goodness (both in-country and internationally). Many of us have family who have died or been injured serving this flag (in many aspects). . . or we ourselves have been injured in service.
People are "just born" into communism. . . .

If you want to be an asshat (which is obvious), so be it. But you could be brave, and move on to a thread that fits your interest. . . or better yet, create your own thread.

Keep up the good pictures, friends!
(This probably should be under "pics").

I respectuflly disagree with you. This is not a debate about which country is best, nor am I saying the one im from is any better.

My comments are meant only as disaproval that a country is a "shiny thing". Any country.

The fact that your first response is to attack what I say, speaks volumes about your personality.

The OP started this post about our nations flag. Our flag is noted in our national anthem as "The Star Spangled Banner".

Stars are shiney. Just sayin'

This thread was started in the "Pics" thread. For some unknown reason the mods moved it here.

Interesting perspective. As you might have noticed, my wife is from Portugal. She lives in the US by choice, but loves her home country too. Doesn't really matter to this thread. This thread is about American flags, and photos of it. Not a political statement.

Maybe this will help our German friend feel better:

Hard to see, but there is an American flag there, along with many other countries. Taken in Germany at the confluence of the Rhine and Mozel Rivers called Koblenz-Deutches-Eck in 2003.

A google close-up:

I'm happy to see this thread grab some traction. As previous posters have commented this was started as a non biased thread. I have never served in the military but am touched by the sacrifice of those who have. Just a little thanks for those who have given so that guys like me can live my life the way I want to. By the way, many great pics so far

Howdy All,

As this is a motorcycle web site, a couple more.......

YES, I still ride this bike, bought it new and it still scares me, I guess that's why its in one piece and I am still alive.

Old Glory has always flown from my Hog.

Its even on the panniers of the Beemer, then as a solo bike,

and now as a rig.

The Ural has also carried the flag all over and around the country.

No, your comments were meant to be what they are: instigative.
If all you cared about was the location of this thread (under "Shiny"), then you wouldn't have made your instigating comments about "flag waving", and "pride being rediculous (sic)" - all of which speaks volumes on your personality.

To say,
"To be proud of something you had no say in, and no choice about is kind of rediculous.", when ref to some peoples pride in a flag that represents their dynamic "free society", is absurd - and essentially, you are calling the OP and all of the posters to this thread, "ridiculous".

Yeah I was born in America, and like so many others (and our ancestors) I've worked to shape and create this country (that'd be having a "say" and a "choice").
This country is continuously shaped and redirected by the people living here. So, of course we're proud of that history and ability (thus, the representative flag).

My personality doesn't acquiesce to those whose intention it is to insult or otherwise be rude, without provocation - and your posts were just that.

Okay, I'm done. . . your trolling worked. Have a nice ride.
