R100/7 Engine Identification Plate/Badge

Can anyone suggest where I might find R100/7 Engine Identification Plates/Badges, e.g. http://classicdepartment.com/shop/po...793d69b2afb43? The only ones I could find were in Spain and cost $150. Hucky's no longer carries these.

If you need only one, let me know. I' switching to a BMW emblem style cover ( '78) because I've been missing one myself.
The one I do have is in good shape but still attached to the cover.

I've been looking for one for weeks. Some jackass in San Francisco took it one morning when I parked it outside and I've been scouring craigslist and ebay ever since. Uggh... living in downtown with a vintage bike. Bet most of you never came outside to see your spark plugs missing because the insulators can be used as crack pipes.

Worth checking Ullis motorad in Germany. They have plates for some modals in stock.

Anyone suggest an alternative?

I finally gave up on finding one for mine and bought a '78 cover that has the intake cast in,as well as the BMW logo on either side of the cover.

My G/S came from San Francisco and the PO installed new heads because of that very thing. Some whacked-out druggie bashed out the spark plugs with a blunt instrument, mashing the fins in the process. His insurance complany replaced the heads, so all worked out in the end.

A friend here in Portland parked his bike outside and now he's got some broken fins on one side from the very same thing happening.

Perhaps we should leave some old spark plugs dangling off the bike in the hopes they'll snag those rather than damaging the bike removing the good ones.

I might have some for you if I can get mine off without damaging them. My bike is an R100/7 but the former owner apparently couldn't find the right ones and put on R80/7 plates.

If you use some wire or an old guitar string, you can gently "saw" through the adhesive holding the emblem on.

Thats just plain scary ... I know a couple of times riding around Portland late at night I almost ran over a few homes ppl ... I serious thought that they were speed bumps when I was approaching them.

great idea. I will try it when I get the new ones. The BMW folks here suggested that I remove them when the block is hot.
