I picked up some Pro Mag flip ups for my RRA.

The website states that it, (PM209 front), is supposed to flip up towards the shooter to deploy but, to me, it just looks wrong in that position.

Is the tapered end supposed to face the shooter or is PM's website worded wrong?

It works, I'm just wondering if I have it on backwards or if I'm an idiot. Or both.

Great find, thank you very much! The 610 style looks like just what I have been looking for. Knew that there had to be some out there, it still surprises me that there aren't many showing up from people who want to bring their older model 'up to date' but...

IDK! Sure seems to me that you would want it to fold toward the operator and flip forward to deploy. Plus being right handed I'd want to keep my right on the grip and use my left to operate 'the button'. Which way does the rear mount? Keeping the screw side of the dovetail mount matched to the rear might make them align better. My YHM folds back and flips forward, it is part of the gas block so there were no options but I would not want to change it.

I run my MI "HK" style the other way. Flips up to the rear. But that's a gas-block rail with a free-float set of quad rails, not a full continuous height.

NP! I think they're the only guy's who cater specifically to the old builds. The retro's have been slowly growing in popularity over the years though. Mainly from the backlash the M4geries. Still no where near as many as the tactical crowd though.

On my old "91", the angled (tapered) portion faced the front of the weapon. As far as I know, it was like this on the 93s and 94s, too...for what it's worth.

I'm just mentioning that because they advertise the sight as "HK-style" (despite the fact that the HK ring/aperture is solid).

And, for the record, I don't think you're an idiot. JM wouldn't be the same without you...

Picked up a Stag lower yesterday to go with my existing Stag upper M4. The Superior lower I've been using is now going to get a new SPR style upper with 18" 1:8 barrel for heavier loads and better accuracy.

I built the bench a few years ago and based the height off of some angle brackets that were already on the wall. Part of my shop was a photo lab before I bought it and I ended up ripping out some of the old sinks and the brackets left behind were perfect. I like being able to stand and work on things so the bench is a little tall for most people (I'm 6'2"), but a barstool bench is the perfect height for the bench if you want to sit down.

The bench has probably 6-7 coats of shellac on it and handles my torture pretty well. I build everything from rifles to rebuild carbs on the bench.
