I'm sure there's another thread like this somewhere---
I'm a Star Wars geek 1975 R75/6 (copper color) -Landspeeder (gone) 1997 F650 (orange) X-wing(gone) 2001 R1150GS (silver) Millenium Falcon(gone) 2003 KLX 300 (green, of course) Slave I 2006 KTM 950 (black) Tie-Fighter If I get the K1100RT that I am dreaming about I might have to switch from Star Wars to Dr. Who. Tardis seems like a good name for a K bike.

I've never named any bike, but on special occasions I will give them a pat on the gas tank and an appreciative "Thank you" for either a very good ride or for pulling my nuts out of the proverbial fire. They're machines, after all.

my Suzuki DRZ400E is named "suzuki samboy nakomurasan".
its a mouthful but you can get around it by saying it real quick. so named because of the obvious in the first instance, then samboy just slipped in somehow and i have a new marine diesel thats going into my boat and its also a jap made engine (named "jack nakomurasan"), so they are kindof like related.... crazy i know. yeah well you all asked.....

I wanted to go with T-Rex, but my wife dubbed it the "Chuckwagon", and it stuck.

I had an XS650 I called "Bessie".
My R80RT came to me with a nameplate: "The Duchess of Hamilton". Usually just referred to as "The Duchess" I had several urges to name my R1100GS. WeissFrau seemed like a good idea at one time and so did Pterodactyl (a friend insists the beak makes him think of this but I don't get it, although the concept of a flying dinosaur sometimes seems appropriate) and Guiselda. However "The GS" seems to be its usual epithet I don't recall naming any other bikes but my brother had an old NVT moped he called "Eric". I think there was a TV ad. at the time where someone said "Come on Eric!" He says it was "Eric" on the flat but "You slow bastard" uphill or if there was any headwind.
