Gps

I went with the NUVI 50 LM (lifetime maps) 5 inch screen. seems durable enough and i like the idea of putting a ziploc around it if it gets really nasty on a ride. Seems to work like a champ for now.

Garmin 550

I have a refurbished Garmin 550 that I got on EBAY. You always see them there with updated maps. It is waterproof, works with gloves on, and best of all has an 8 hr battery on board. It has numerous modes so that you can detach it from the ram mount and go hike in the woods with it if you want. You can buy an extra battery pack if you want. I just charge it on the bike at night, or I can hook it up to my power port and power it real time.

To get a full 8 hours you have to lower the screen brightness settings and mute the sound. I get full power during the day by only using it when I really need it.
