I had to climb up on it.....

I just had a conversation with a guy the wrecked a Goldwing. He told me that a car pulled out in front of him and he said he had enough time to tell his passage they were going to crash and that he then laid it down on purpose and "Climbed up on top of it"
I am sorry but I have heard that line for years and I thought to my self I have low sided 2 times and high sided once and the only thought I had was "SHIT!!!"
and then crash. What the hell am I doing wrong.
After watching motorcycle racing for the last 15 years I have yet to see a MotoGP rider surfing down the race track..
Has anyone else heard this line of bull shit and just wanted to yell " Liar!"???

Someone I knew did that.
Lost it on a rail road track crossing and surfed the bike till it stopped.
Not a scratch on him, the bike never ran again.
3 cylinder 2 stroke 750 Suzuki.

Saw it on a motoGP race. Old mate gets the wiggles on, drops the bike and is kneeling on its fairing whilst he it flogging down the track. When the bike slows enough, he jumps off it and starts flipping off the other rider who caused the crash.

Part 2 of the two part story. Part 1 is the "lay it down" story.

The Yamaha 2stroke twin crowd was the loudest proclaimers of surfing their bikes, in my experience. To listen to them talk, some of them seemed to do it on a daily basis, with magical disapearing damage.

I've always wanted to see someone do it. From the begining I always thought this notion of climbing atop my sliding motorcycle, after falling down, was improbable.

Just respond as follows:

"Wow!! That's a very impressive skill you have. It must require alot of practice to properly execute, as it is clearly beyond the ability of the average rider to execute on the spur of the moment! Where did you go to learn such skill? How often do you practice it? Where do you practice it? Who's motorcycle do you practice it with?"

End with... "Would you mind demonstrating it for me?"

They made a game where it was needed to get by certain obstacles. It was the PS2 game "Speed Kings". They have an example in this video at 1:22.

BS comes in all flavors, I guess.

Just recently a fellow told me it is THE LAW to ride within inches of the center line so as to be visible to and not struck by oncoming traffic.

The biggest BS story I EVER heard was from a guy who told me that he was so skilled, that once he was going through an intersection, and saw an impending accident about to happen (on a goldwing). So, since he had so much experience riding in the dirt, he slammed on the rear brakes, "laid er down" slid through the intersection on the bikes side, and then proceeded to grab the brakes again, which uprighted the bike, and then ride safely away.
Umm, yeah. And let me guess, you also banged Cindy Crawford once.
