Bicycle Rides Photo Thread!

Since nearly every bicycle thread turns into a dick waving bicycle rights thread, I thought it would be fun to show what some of us do with our bikes, where we go, and what we see!

I'll start!

My wife and I rode a short fun ride on the C&O Canal MUT today. The weather was perfect, 70 and sunny, and the trail fairly lightly used.

A few photos of what most of the trail looked like:

There are an amazing number of locks still fairly complete on this old canal:

Also, interesting acces to an island between the canal and the Potomac River:

It appears to be a private club of some kind.

Finally, a photo of my lovely wife around the half way point:

Great ride, and some beautiful surroundings.

Post up some of your rides, and let's see how much fun riding can really be!

Midland Bike Trail outside of Buena Vista, Colorado.

Was on a trip with my wife's family, so my father-in-law and I decided to ride this trail.

Not too far down the trail.

A little further down the trail

Lunch time!

If ya can't tell, I'm struggling at this point.

Almost done.

Thankfully, the direction we rode this trail was mostly downhill. That was great news for my sea lungs and legs

I would ride it again if in the area. It was a perfect day to ride it, early October 2010. The weather could not have been better that day.

Looks like a fun ride!

I am new back into riding, so do not have much stamina yet, but am working on it. The wife and I have decided that we need better bikes than her Huffy and my equivalent!

I'm telling you, we have to meet at BWI sometime and zip down the B&A trail.

We will. We are working on some new bikes for Christmas. We are winter people, so will ride so long as there is no ice.

My typical playground about 2miles away from our home with my lovely wife Lauren and our little baby in a "bike/run" little trip.

This is becoming a habitual run for me. I like it. You can really zip down that path.

Northern terminus at the BWI trail.

They've laid out a scale model of the solar system along the trail. That's the sun.

Southern end just north of the Severn river in Annapolis.

Downtown Annapolis, only a couple miles and a (high & windy) bridge away from the trail.

Mid-ride salad.

I rode that Colorado ride on a Haro Decent bike other than it was way to small for me. That said, I know have a Trek Marlin 29 hardtail. Kinda a beginners MTB from what I have read, but it is so much better than the Haro was. I think next summer I may try to upgrade to a decent full suspension bike. This one bounces around constantly on the local trails with all their roots (or maybe I just need to stand up on the pedals more )
