A few of the sections on the proposed route are the same ones used at p2d. That being said its only an hour here and an hour there, the rest of the route is just gravel and paved roads. Without doubt a couple of sections (same difficulty or similiar to last 2 Roaming Rally tech sections) would could be considered offroading but unlike p2d its not a race so take your time, enjoy the scenery and whatnot

Roaming Rally is as much about having a cold one around a fire as it is about the riding...or so I like to think

Roaming Rally 2012 was my favorite ride of the year (thus far) so sign me up for 2013!!

I don't have a team since I just stumbled on this thread tonight.. Riding with the LC8 team would be fun but I'll mostly likely be on my 650gs thumper and there's no chance of my being able to afford an LC8 before the ride; plus they've got more than enough riders already... I'd be happy to join/start a team with other teamless riders or perhaps get a few adv'ers I know locally (CT/RI, USA) to sign up for the ride if there's time/room for more riders?? It looks like the roster is almost full if it's capped at 60 people...

so what's the recommended course of action? Should I send payment without a team and figure it out in the coming months or should I assemble a team and go from there?

Thinking you may have answered your own question.

Coming from a guy that has taught Winter survival to the Navy, this is good to hear.

We finished the entire Dacre challenge this year (me on the wr250r - team mates both on 690's) with a separated shoulder at 5:30am (18hrs in the saddle) - but for that event i definitely wouldn't want to ride the klr if i had a choice.

How difficult will the days be with loaded gear compared to the PD/Dacre challenge (I'm sure some guys have ridden both on the same bikes)? I know flanny has - but he is in a different class than us mortals.

E
P2D 2012 was far more challenging than roaming rally 2012. Test out my giant loop for your WR that's what i'll be using on my 690.

I might be in for this one! I'm going to see if my regular crew is interested. If not, I may need to join a team. Is there plenty of room left?

Paid and in!!! If the rest of my crew signs up, it will be team Mystery Machine. If not, I'll tag along with another team. I guarantee not to keep anyone waiting. Riding a 525exc.

I'm going to update the list soon, so if any changes need to be made PM me.

One thing that would be helpful, is if you don't have a team see if you can join with one looking for a third (TBD) or with less than 5 riders. It will help me keep track of everything.
