Epic ride! Be sure to bypass Toronto by either going north, or do a little detour when you hit Kingston and head into NY state and head west to Niagara Falls, might as well see the falls, then re-enter Ontario. Believe me, you don't want to be riding on the trans canada highway thru Toronto on the 401 with its 16 lanes of dense traffic.

Thumb Way in here...

Traveled to many parts of the world over the last several years but it has always seemed to me that our neighbor to the north is far more interesting and scenic. Happy to see the ride going forward. For those of us yet to take one of these epic rides, please post it up for us chair bound cubicle rats.
Ride safe there friend...

If you are spending a night in Ottawa, this is a place worth considering, a night in jail. I am curious as to whether you plan to camp or motel it across Canada.

Caged it to Yellowknife last year to see our aunt. There is gas in Enterprise, which is the turn off to Hay River.

Indian Cabin might have gas but here is a contact number for them:

Indian Cabins Trading Post 780-535-2131

A link to Yellowknife riders, they may offer some additional ideas,

Have a great trip.

Deifenbunker, just east of Ottawa in the village of Carp is a neat stop as well. It is Canada’s 4 story cold war underground bunker built to house the government in case of nuclear war. Now a neat museum that is open daily.

TransCanada Highway 11 through northern Ontario isn’t as scenic as taking the 17 along the great lakes shoreline. Not sure what your route plans are though.

Watch out for moose. They hurt if you hit one.
