Sometimes I Hate My MAC
Work with Windows computers for work and so my wife got me to get a MAC for my personal laptop. OK... I can try to switch and have done pretty well. I have some home build photos that get sent out on a blast email every 2 weeks or so but now I cannot seem to get it accomplished.
In past weeks I have had a window for iPhoto open and another for the current email. I have been just clicking on the photo and dragging it over to the email and there you go. For some damn reason now I can't have both windows open. You click on the email and it swipes iPhoto off the screen somewhere and now you can't drag to it. If I have the email up and click on iPhoto, then the email disappears the other direction. WTF am I missing here?

Could be that Mail and iPhoto are open on different "desktops". Hit the F3 key and see what shows up at the top of the screen. Or click the magnifying glass in the upper right and type "mission control". If you get a couple of desktops, you can drag your apps from one to the other and you'll have iPhoto and Mail together again.
You can control these "spaces" in System Preferences for Mission Control. |

I use books by this author every time I change the operating system. She gets right to the point on each application and covers the important stuff so you can function in the new environment.

I love Pogue's books. I checked this one from the library and read through a little of it every day.

Yeah, that's what happens when they are in different "spaces". I work have to use Windows at work and I use Mac at home. I have a third party virtual desktop app at work and it mostly sucks compared to OSX spaces.
After you get used to it, the way desktops work on OSX is definitely superior to Windows. They put a lot of thought into it.
