Wink F2 Resurrection

I am planning to ride from Toronto to Vancouver next summer. My girlfriend will meet me there and we will spend some time riding out west.

The bike I want to use is a CBR F2. I already have one and I found another one in great condition for a very low price. Initially I was just going to rebuild my old F2 but the one I found is pretty much ready to go.

I wonder if the F2 is everything I think it is. See, I am very fond of the F2. When I was young and broke that bike never let me down. I think it's a very reliable bike and it should have no issues doing this trip. I find is comfortable and good enough to carry two people and all their camping needs. While it's not an RR, is it really that outdated? I don't remember it being under powered and I think it's suspension and brakes are very good for a sport-touring(the way I see it) bike. Would it really be a big difference if I got a F4i for example?

The F2 was my first bike, and I LOVED that thing. I wish I hadn't sold it. I would have trusted it to take me anywhere. Lets see some pictures of your current Honder!

Me and a few chicks were supposed to go camping. Weather wasn't looking too good. I was certain it would get better, they wanted to cancel. To prove a point I rode my bike there. Told them "If I can ride my bike there you can drive there". I was an hour ahead of them. I got rained on the whole way there. They did not get a drop on their car.



Haha, just saw the rip on the seat. It was caused by a screwdriver in my backpack. I was working for a telecom company. I was supposed to have a work van and go around a lot of Tim Hortons in northern Ontario. I turned the bike in a telecom van and had a blast riding from Timmies to Timmies.

There was a reason wh the f2 was such a good seller.
It's still a very functional bike. Does it stack up to an f4i. Depends on who you are doing the stacking.

Personally I'd save my dollars and ride the f2 for as long as I could the cost difference is going to buy you a lot of gas and maybe even some up rated suspension goodies or a track day or six.
