California motorcycle Title travel question

The title for my motorcycle shows "my name" OR "my wife's name" as owners.
Something very common when buying vehicles in CA. Any of us can convey, transfer or use the bike without the other's permission.

I'm planning a trip down to Patagonia this November.

Does anyone know if I will have problems when crossing borders with a shared title? (my wife will not be with me).

Any experiences you can share?
Thanks
HM

I've not heard of anyone having a problem in the Americas but I have heard of people having problems in other parts of the world. When I did my trip, I changed the title and registration to just list me - no lien holder either.

I always list "and/or" because that makes it easy when I'm gone or vice versa & never a problem

Central and South America

Thanks for your responses.
I'm mostly concerned about Central America border crossings.
I'll find out how cumbersome would be to change title under my name only.

Thanks

I'd get it in the riders name only.
I've ridden down a couple of times and spent
time riding in Central America.
Leaving soon to ride back to Southern Chile.

Basically you do not want to give the customs, Aduana.
any reason to question you bikes temporary import application.

I can see that an over zealous Customs officer, or one needing lunch money, would want both owners present before issuing the permit.

Make it simple, with no reasons for them to hang you up $$$$.

I even carry a small long handled mirror to make it easier for the
customs officers to read the vin # on my KTM 990

Again, thanks.

That is exactly my concern.

Today, I went to the DMV to request deleting one owner.
Unfortunately, they can't do anything until I receive the title. (one or two more weeks.)....
