I agree. That engine is probably great. The design looks pretty much complete to me, and they probably need time just for tuning and polishing. I just can't get why they had to change the front so much. My hope is that they will use that engine in other models, like a pure touring bike maybe?

PS. The old Wee was never ugly.

yeah, they're really not keeping with the company soul of digging in the parts bin - then it would have looked a lot more like the new 650!

At least they seem to have resisted the trend of making 1200s. Very, very good on them!

I saw the new 650 a few weeks ago in a parking lot in all black and mistook it for a Tenere for a split second... much nicer than this concept but IMO this doesn't look that bad.

I'm all for function over form but lose the beak, lower the headlight a few inches and install a larger screen.

The double headlights are a V-Strom trademark, am hoping it doesn't lose them. Plus they are some of the best out there as far as stock lights go.

I'd say much more dr750-ish than GS

Exactly! I was really looking forward to the new DL 1000 in updated DL 650 style. There is no way in hell I'm going to buy this. I might as well buy the new GS, but I hate that design too.

It's supposed to be a Dr. Big knock off.

The show just opened in Germany didn't it?
