Plenty of aspects on the current V will hold you back on the trail LONG before the power characteristics will, suspension, weight, clearance etc. If the V is really to violent for you to control the power I can't imagine how you feel on a modern 450 motocross bike, hold the throttle open on that and the Vee will feel like a kitty cat in comparison, it just has the suspension and less wieght to match that power.

That being said, the current Vees fueling is way to lean down low and a PC goes a long way to fixing that, but it is STILL based on a sport motor (finally the guy in the suzuki video says what I have been all along) ride it like a sport motor and it's smooth and quick. You just can't be lazy with it. Now if they really manage to get the low end grunt improved AND keep the free reving top end, I might have to upgrade.

For the record I'd like an adventure touring bike (which is what the strom is). Seems so many here are ashamed for some reason to admit they really like a bike that is designed to tour anywhere. 90% of the "offroad" pics I see on these bikes are dirt situations I'd ride many street bikes through.

This is why the factory guys blow you off....you are 90% BS.

I have yet to buy a factory bike whose suspension is not perfectly adequate 90% of time if properly adjusted.

I just wish this line of BS would stop...its worthless. There is so much more that is pertinent....like proper tires, proper first gear ratios, large enough tank, and of course a quality seat. But keep dreaming. If you want a motocross set up put it on and shut up...please.

But.......it helps "wet the appetites" regardless.........

Suzuki is "betting" that the new DL1000 will help pull themselves out of the fire...........see a blurb in the following article:

One of the dwindling number of Suzuki dealers in my local area has thrown the towel in. This new product march can't come quick enough..

I think this is where the trouble all started for Suzuki. The guy in the red sweater...

In my opinion, Suzuki jumped the shark when the Gladius came out.
