Glad to hear

You got the Sherpa sorted out! John you surely are an inspiration to all us Sherpa riders, Here's a pic of mine, I did the happy trails top plate and rack, then added the Givi monokey setup with a Walmart topbox, Still love my old GS but this will stay as my south of the border bike.

I painted the kelly green diagonal stripes on the front of the pub yesterday. I scrubbed down the walls and scraped the loose paint off on the white and orange Irish stripes today, but it turned out they opened early today and I had to put away my ladder and paint brushes:

Albert's barmaids love him. What's not to like. He's a great guy:

They are awful cute. I gotta say:

As was the store clerk down at the grocery store:

There are a lot of very beautiful women in Medellin. They love shoes. I walked back from the grocery store and the shoe stores were all closed. Practically every fourth store in Poblado sells womens shoes. The only one that didn't have the doors down this Saturday evening had very conservative stock:

I'll shoot some of the more flash stuff later.

Adios mis amigos de aventura,
Juan St. Patrick

Al did mention that Misery Goat and Crashmaster had a hard time leaving this place.

Not hard to imagine. Medellin is like a magnet and I am pig iron. So it might be a tad difficult to leave this little slice of paradise.

Hasta Mañana,
Juanito

Hi miguelitro,

I check the weather often. Mel who came north and stopped here the other day said he had been riding in rainstorms through Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador and was looking forward to the sunny Colombian coast.

Not a great time of year to head south through the Andes and Venezuela is a little sketchy right now. That's okay. Al is keeping me busy. I love Medellin. There's always next year. I will park the Sherpa when I run out of money and continue south next fall I imagine. I love South America. It's a huge continent. I've got plenty of time. What's the rush? Flying to the U.S. and back to Colombia is cheap. And the Sherpa is running flawlessly. It's too damn cold to be riding the Carretera Austral and down in southern Patagonia right now. I'll catch it next year. This ride report will be 1000 pages long by the time I finish goofing off down here.

Saludos,
Juan Poblado

Hi CaptUglyDan,

Love that name! Nice looking Sherpa. I remember when mine looked that nice. I like the water bottle bracket on the left passenger footpeg. Nice! And a Walmart topbox. It doesn't get any better than that for a poverty rider. I like it!

All you need is an XR650L 4 gallon tank and a sheepskin seat cover and you are good to hit the long road. Looks like Baja. I like the tailgate wall decor.

Kindest regards,
Juan Sherpa

Went down and had an excellent hamburguesa and papas fritas at the Shamrock this evening:

In the company of Dennis and Carla who were feeling the Irish spirit of St. Patrick:

More revelers:

It's later now and there's a lot of screaming going on downstairs as I type this. I hesitate to think what's going on down there.

Saludos,
Juanito

That's cool, John. Just hoping you didn't get carried away by some overenthusiastic abuelita Colombina.
