I think the guys have steered you into a doable and very fun direction w/ the supermoto option. I like that you are being cool w/ your wife, even if she is a bit out to lunch in terms of her bike knowledge. I'd go for a K1200R SPORT myself in that situation... And now for something completely different; an old POLITIE bike. "OBVIOUSLY one of the SAFEST bikes out there Honey". ![]() Goes like stink; great on the Autobahn, highly visible and well treated by dumb-ass drivers, and *almost* TICKETPROOF!!!. Dunno about pricing though. FWIW: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/273/80...irst-Ride.aspx

Sweet, the fz1 is very quick. Will still go more places than the beemer anyway because at $900 you cant depreciate it.

Not sure if this has been suggested, but how about a nice sport touring bike like a Triumph Sprint ST/GT or Ducati ST2-3-4 or BMW R1150 RS or K1200RS? All of these bikes look sporty, have a sportier riding position yet come with factory luggage for touring. Even the insurance companies don't classify them as sport bikes so you will have verifiable proof that they are not sport bikes.
If she is the great wife that you portray, then it is in your best interest to keep her happy. Good luck, Rick G Edit: I posted before reading through and just noticed you bought a Fazer. Nice choice and please ride safe and show your wife how responsible you are.

You are going to love the Fz1. Your wife has no idea how fast that thing is - and don't tell her. I sold my 2007 because I rode it like a jack ass making bad passes and ridding wheelies down the interstate. Now I stick to lower HP bikes, have more fun and don't worry about the police as much. I found I like the curves as moderate speeds better any way. I am calming in my old age so maybe I can go back to something with a 100 or so HP.

FWIW - When I bought the K1300S, I kept the R1200GS for 2-up riding. But the wife prefered being pillion on the K bike far better than on the GS. On teh GS, she felt uncomfortable and exposed sitting so high off the ground.

Buy a bike for her first ( something pretty), then she'll probably even write the cheque for whatever bike you want.

![]() This is what i got now. So no need for new suggestions, the choice is made. I will make a new thread with a first review of the bike. Oh and : my wife doesn't ride, not herself and not pillion. Four wheels good, two wheels better |
