East Virginia DS Practice Area

I have recently found an area available for dual sporters to hone their riding skills. I am interested in finding out how many other riders would be interested in this opportunity. Some of the details are as follows:

1) Location: northern Gloucester County, VA
2) It is an established MX / Trail riding club and the land owner (club) is
willing to set aside (or create a new) area for DSrs.
3) The area (track) is a very wide (30'-50'), old style MX track (maintained).
It is excellent for a DS practice area. Broad elevation changes for varying figure 8 setups (flat, slightly sloped and steeper sloped). It is really good for the very novice rider to advanced. We can setup gravel, sand and mud courses. It has flat sections also. It would be a great place to put on some organized classes (if there is interest).
4) Camping may be available and a clubhouse with bathrooms and showers are coming soon. Clean port-a-potties are there now.
5) This area of east VA has some gravel and back roads to explore.

The details are being fine tuned ( $ , available times /days etc)

Who out there may be interested?

I have a KTM 990 ADV and a KTM 450 EXC (plated). I ride this area often and thought I'd let others know about it. It's too much fun and my skills have definitely gotten better through practicing on this course.

The area would be good for riders from the Tidewater, Richmond, Middle Peninsula or Northern Neck areas. The riding area would be set aside for the DSers and no dirt bikes would be interfering during practice. Where anyone else wants to get involved or not, a few of us are going to do it anyway. I would be more fun with some other DSers involved. Again, it is good for the very beginner to the advanced riders.

You can look at the aerial view on Google Earth. It's in northern Gloucester County off Batt Road. The property is partly in King and Queen.

37 34' 13.00" N
76 39' 34.00" W

The west loop would be set aside. You can choose to ride the entire area yet is not recommended if the fast MX guys and gals are riding. I use knobbies on my 990 yet I think 50/50's will do fine.
I do understand how much $ we have spent on our bikes. None of us really want to go down. Yet a while back, I decided to start riding more dirt, sand. hills etc. instead of just the occasional gravel road. That KTM 990 LOVES the dirt.

You should get a mod to move this thread to the proper regional section(the southeast). You'd have a better likelihood of getting some response. Not too many folks come down to this section(or even know it exists).
