We should try to collect F5unds by offering ESL language courses: How to say the same thing in 5 different ways! Pro-level courses every year, Jan 1-Jan 15.

This is way to early and jinxing and all that, but my week is starting just right:

CP2
1 COMA 01:52:03 00:00:00
3 RODRIGUES 01:53:00 00:00:57
2 DESPRES 01:54:54 00:02:51

Can we please give a provisional alien status to Helder?

He usually sprints the last thirds of stages really well, maybe he can reel in Marc Coma today!

Hehe Troy coming fourth in the F5orce quick response rally. Need to brush up for the Dakar matey.

I see the it is pretty fast and flat all the way in from here. I'm guessing the first riders will be in within 40 minutes. The three aliens Coma, Rodriguez and Despres already pulling out a lead on the rest of the field.

Its amazing how some of us are literally arriving at the same conclusions at the same time. The F5orce is strong in here this morning.

Time gaps between leader pack between CP1 and CP2

The biggest difference between the times of the top three, and the best of the rest from CP1 compared with CP 2, is probably the decisive nature with which these guys identified, entered and crossed that small dune field (southern end Erg Chebbi) about midway in that section.

That accounts for perhaps eight to ten minutes of that gap... and the rest of the time difference further down the ladder (pos. 8 onwards) is just thenatural progression spreading of the field over the fast/dusty open terrain.
