Okay mum... so give us a bit of perspective... what's going through the boys mind right now, in minutes before the start... how was his general feeling/impression of the rally so far; last night?

I can give you a perspective of Sam's thoughts the minutes before the race - flag down, pin it!

Thumb Prize gone ski...

F5... 4... 3... 2... 1...

Go on and get at it...!!!

Yesterdays stage winner Pryzgonski will lead them off today and should be "on course" now, with CDp away two minutes after...

Should be another great battle out there today... the "best of the best" in a sandpit.

We were hoping for something a bit more cerebral, and less testosterone inclined... He's been quoted as saying he's been "learning things" this week...

As noted, that lake looks like the ultimate top speed test

Can't wait

Adrenalin taken over already!! Focused as he always is on doing his best. Due to injuries this year apart from Sardinia which he said was more like a dusty enduro (not too impressed!) this is his first rally since the Dakar last year and he is stoked to be part of the HRC team and to be given this chance to prove himself. He is finding the navigation the hardest, never been a problem with his speed lol!! I think he feels he has learnt the most from this rally with the navigation and mixing it with the aliens so feeling good about himself and the bike, let's hope it continues that way today

You hit the nail right on the head there, my thoughts exactly, he has never been any different although I think he is getting slightly wiser as he gets older (I did say slightly)
