Klim Everest Jacket

Having owned the Klim Latitude jackets for several months now, my friend and I had been waiting on the Everest mid-layer jackets to come in as they had been on back order for sometime. They finally arrived last week and we were excited to get the chance last Sunday to try them out in 50F weather, which is not very cold. Not impressed. The collar was too short and allowed cold air to enter at the back of the neck. And even though it is advertised at 480 grams of Arcic Fleece, I couldn't tell it. Riding behind large windshields (R1200GS Adventures), we were still chilled and had to switch to our Aerostich Darien liners for warmth. On a scale, for looks, I give them a 10. On functionality, a 3. It's really too bad too, as I had hoped it would be the perfect combination. I don't understand why Klim doesn't make gear that works better than it looks.

I knew I wouldn't have any trouble selling my Everest as they are great looking and would work great out on the town, or on a date, etc., just not on a bike. And I was right. Sold it here last night in a couple of hours.
