That's the only production car clutch I've seen that costs more than the piece of shit clutch in my Shelby. That's why God invented the aftermarket.

I saw one of those in Wales, truly a neat little car. And small!

As for the clutch... Wow, those BMW guys sure know their customers! No wonder I drive a Subaru.

FWIW, there's no way in hell I'd spend $2500 for a clutch at the stealership. I'd push it out of the dealer and get an aftermarket one put in. Depending on the cost of that, I'd consider selling it and try to figure out if it was better to sell it needing repair or to fix it, then sell it. $2500 is a crazy price for a clutch!

You're a fool if you'd cut a check to have an aftermarket clutch installed when the expensive clutch was slated to be replaced under warranty. Or did you miss that part of the conversation?

I went to the Mini dealer today when I was out riding my moto. I think they thought I was there for a test drive, helmet under arm

The Countryman looks nice, I sat in one with a rear bench seat. For those of you who have S models, all of them, check your oil frequently. The direct injection on the turbo model splashes away some oil. This does not happen on the regular model, it has port fuel injection (info source: my friend who is head mini tech at another mini dealer).

That said, I liked the countryman, but it would be slow as a dog without the turbo. I really, really liked the Clubman. That extra side door would be perfect for my big dog to get in.

I am concerned in general about the reliability of Minis. That is all that keeps me from pulling the trigger.

Let me tell you, even back then 520-10" (yes, 10") tires were tough to come by, forget white walls.
