2007/ 640 Rally
Thinking of buying this bike.-already have 2010 990Adv.R..with 50,000kms, need a lighter bike for the fun stuff. Any feedback on my choice of the 640..?

There is no 640 Rally, they are 660s or 690s. And in the US you are very very unlikely to find a Rally anyway, so it's probably an Enduro or Adventure model.
If you already have a 990, I'd get something in the 450-570 KTM/Husaberg range to go with it for mixed riding, or a 200-300 2-stroke for pure off road.

I've got a 640 Adventure and a TE-449. The 640 is for doing long multi-day road/dirt trips that won't include much single track. The 449 is awesome on tight single track. The 640 can do the singletrack, you just have to work harder to do it. I would also look at a smaller bike since you already have a 990. Maybe something that you can put a bigger fuel tank on if you need the range.
