I helped Malcolm, Alexander and Andy Grider with repairing the top end on the husky just past the Military Check point just before Borrego. Got Alexander's bike going and then couldn't get Andy's scooter fired. Anyway, I didn't realize that it had problems before the start.

Yea someone spent the night before changing motors and top ends on the bike so he could make the run to the finish.. Had to use old gaskets and pistons etc but it ran and made it to the finish.

Love the modern tourances on the old bike.
If you race this you will prove to be even tougher than you already are for racing that harley hack. Go for it ![]() But seriously.... are you considering racing the hog in the Mex1K? I still want to see that thing in action.

No racing for me this time. The sidecar hasn't been touched since we did the first M1K. All kinds of things are still broken, or in need of replacement. And I can't just buy most of that stuff, I have to hand fabricate it. I won't have time to fix it over the coming months. I have to get the roadbooks all preped for this 2013 edition.

If your not using it, I would , the original cannonball... Pre 1920 bikes only.
sure wish we could have a seeding super special out at lake of the devil the day before with a place for camping. It would bring a lot more spectators and allow campers/shoestringers pre run their camp set up so if they forgot anything they could go to walmart and it would allow some to get their cars/bikes sorted or shook down. This way there will be no bitching about start order from racers, it also gives us a little more racing since day 4 is a short one. well I guess its time to pull out that 2012 day 4 roadbook... I plan to hopefully run a route next week or two with a couple I wrote on rally navagator. http://www.rallynavigator.com/

Don't get your hopes up. From what I'm hearing, it looks like only an hour of NEW work for the 2013 roadbooks (might be a new intersection, or new stop sign somewhere along the way). Honoring The Past for sure, the other part maybe not so much. If you expect or want something more interesting or challenging, especially navigation wise, I suggest you write to NORRA and express your opinions about what you want the course and roadbooks to look like. They seem pretty happy with what it was last year, which is why I spend my free time doing Grand Rally and Diabolical roadbooks instead.
