Does anybody have a picture taken from directly overhead that shows width between the knees? I've got joint problems (to say the least! ) so the narrower the better. I'd like to see how the EVO2 compares to the EVO1 in that department. The EVO2 certainly looks better to me

Hello Everyone!
my first post on ADVrider, although I have been following closely anything related to the 690 for the past 6 months, since I bought mine!

Hi Hotspunk,
do you mind posting some photos on how you mounted the GPS to the left of the speedo on the dashboard?

I just received my EVO 2 complete kit, and that is where I was planning to install my GPS!

Thank you very much!

I will be posting pics as soon as I have installed my kit!

Cheers
Gianluca

Installed the tanks yesterday. Pretty straight forward job untill I was putting the battery back in. My bike is fitted with the evo 2 cams and airfilter and the relocation of the battery to the front. I had to dremel of a little metal here and there, but battery was still to big. I ended up with locating the battery on its side, but will get a smaller Lithium battery sorted asap.

I have not fitted the vinyl on the tanks and I'm not sure I'll bother. I am also considering painting the panels black. Some sort of graphics would be nice as well.

Do the plastic pieces that cover the sides of the frame at/near the steering stem/ignition switch have to be removed to install the EVO2 kit (without fairing)? All the pictures I've seen so far show them removed.

Once you move the coil and the cdi unit there is no reason for those plastic pieces to be there.
You can trim them up a little bit and leave them just for looks.
